I can't find crickets locally besides at the one co-op and now it's becoming colder out and not the season for crickets. What else can I feed my adolescent pink toe? There are not many options in my area

In Europe you can buy them online from tarantula stores/sellers. Have you try that where you live?

Tarantulas tend to not be picky, anything they can overpower is a good feeder...super worms, meal worms, wax worms, red worms, earthworms, hoppers (locusts in Europe), people even use bean weevils or hornworms.

I've heard that tarantulas usually wouldn't be interested in worms or anything similar, he tends to not venture to the substrate, ever, but I could try . . . . I have not tried internet ordering for crickets yet either though, I could give that a go also . . . . Like I had mentioned before we don't really have many options around here in our bait shops and it's getting colder . . . the closest decent pet store is an hour away

Just prekill the worm and lay it on its webbing up top. Most of the time they will find it and eat.

Wax worms are usually carried all winter...theyre the most used live bait in winter for gills.

When feeding worms, its best to leave the worm up in the ts webbing and not on the ground....but avics certainly will go down to the ground level to hunt.

Another thing to consider is starting a small roach colony...dubia or red runners are both good feeders...and you dont need a colony even, jus a bunch as they will survive all winter if cared for even a little bit.
