I just saw this weird beetle crawling in the picture frame of my preserved malasyan walking leaf. Could anyone please tell me what this is?
Yeah, that's bad news. It's a carpet beetle - and they are notorious for devouring insect collections (among other things). It is the larvae that do the damage - but if that beetle finds a mate, one of them will lay eggs and produce a bunch of voracious larvae.
I hope that beetle didn't damage your walking leaf too badly! (And that it doesn't have siblings still munching away inside the leaf insect.)
