I found this tarantula while walking home today. I live near the LAX in Southern California. I am actually very surprised, I think it may be an Avic someone released, because of it's body shape and arboreal tendencies. I believe this may be a subspecies of A. Purpurea because it is a vibrant purple color. any thoughts?
attempts at capture have failed, it was too large for a catch cup as seen below
This new species (which I have personally dubbed avicularia sp falsus gigantica
is an apparently very heavy webber!
Can we get Raven to possibly describe it?
