What should I do?

I was hunting for critters at my parents house when I saw what I thought was an abandoned paper wasp nest as I was pulling it down I felt something soft brushing against my hand, when I pulled away I saw a very flustered foundress fly off, she did not even try to sting, even though I had my hand around the entire nest. I feel so bad, I have been lookinf or the foundress for over an hour and will continue to do so until I leave. I put the nest as close as i could back to the old spot, I wedged it inbetween to vines and that gives it a firm support. My question is what should I do? Should I leave it and hope the foundress finds it, or should I take the nest and attempt to raise them by hand, or third, should I take the nest and see if my queen will adopt them? There are reports of unrelated paper wasps caring for young of another queen. I feel a moral obligation to do something to fix my mistake.

YES! Major lucky, I caught the foundress and she is with her nest unfortunetly if fell from its location so i guess I have another wasp colony, but this helps my breeding plans for line breeding. I am so happy this incident will have a happy ending.

She is currently going through the stage all new captive wasps, and hornets go through, try to find a way out, eventually she will settle down and tend to the nest, its going to be multi colored as the building material I have is way different than the stuff she was using in terms of color.
