What parts of the plant can root weevils eat?

I recently procured a Diaprepes abbreviatus specimen and I can’t really release it with a good conscience since it’s an invasive pest species where I live. What can I feed him? I have a hibiscus plant and there are plenty of hollies nearby, but do I have to feed him roots? Or will he eat leaves/twigs as well?
Any help is appreciated!

Root weevils. Huge pain in the butt in sugar cane. Do they even go up above the dirt? Around here in many places they can only plant cane once every 3 to 5 years to allow the weevils to starve off.

Hi,

D. abbreviatus will eat both the roots and the leaves of plants. D. abbreviatus larvae seem to gravitate towards the roots, while adults chew holes in leaves.

Alternating sugar cane and cassava. Revenge on the weevils.
