What kind of spider is this?

It's a huntsmen spider, also known as a giant crab spider, family Sparassidae. Probably Heteropoda venatoria, especially if you found it in the south east USA.

Johns can probably confirm or deny this, as he is the resident lover of huntsmen!

I beleieve the drum thing u refer to, is called a rim shot.(dudun dun, tish!)

where did u find it im going down to miami are there any of them there what should i look for also are there any giant huntsman in brazil thanx in advance

Watch out for any phoneutria sp. if you are seeking huntsmen in SA they wont kill you, but they are reputed to have a very nasty bite.
