Love my Lasiodora parahybana. She still has some growing to do. Her last molt measured 7 and 1/8''. She's my favotire because I have never had a T this big... still growing.... that stays out in the open all the time for all to see. I have many other birdeaters, but it's like a 50/50 chance that I'll catch them out in the open. The only time my Lasiodora parahybana hides is a week or so befor molting, then a day after she has molted, she's right back in the open for all to see. This last molt she didn't even hide. She just laid some webbing down in the corner and a couple of weeks later I got to watch the whole thing from start to finish. Amazing!!!

My favourites have to Avicularia, although I like pretty much all tarantulas.

I really like the P. murinus. I love the striking orange color and temperament. I really enjoy most Old World species though.

I like the list! And yea I pass on the Avicularia scene myself. Avics to me are like the "weak sauce" tarantulas. If your gonna get an avic, you might as well just get a little mouse or something. And I LOVE H. lividums myself. THEY REALLY ARE FAST! You stroke one with a paint brush on the abdomen, next thing you know, its ALREADY climbed up the handle and is 2 inches away from your fingers!

i think avics are cool, and i was never into them, my A. versicolor and friend's a. purpuea convinced me otherwise. Favorite though is definitely my T stirmi, she's always out, her velvety look is awesome, and she's huge.

Yea T. stirmi is a cool one. I don't have anything AGAINST avics, I just think there the "Poodle" of tarantulas. Small, fluffy, harmless little fuzz balls. Not my style.

Tough question. My P murinus ranks high for coloration and construction skills, but I think Psalmopoeus cambridgei is tough to beat in the beauty department.

I don't have a favourite per se...but the Lampropelma violaceopes was the one that got me into T's...

That has got to be the neatest looking spider ever! :D It's BIG, BLUE and has the longest legs. It looks like a muppet with fangs...

Although I'm new to the hobby I'm mostly going with the spiders I have, obviously I chose them as I like them best, which are;

B.bohmei - docile and great colors ( waiting to see how true the hair flicking is?!)
C.cyaneopubescens - An orange, blue and green tarantula that webs a lot!! Sounds perfect

also like the

B.smithi - temprament and colors
A.versicolor - looks great but would be intimidated trying to keep this right now, due to the humidity requirements and the fact it's arboreal, see what happens in the future?

My favorite is the one that got me into the hobby, the A. hentzi. My wife found one for me when we were on vacation and I've been hooked ever since :)
