I live in Massachusetts, and often under rocks or rotted leaves I will spot these lightning quick tiny centipedes- about 2 inches or so, orange in color- They are so fast if you pick one up, they will reach around and bite, before you have time to react- and despite their small size, the bite can sting like hell- What species of centipede would this be? Are they indiginous to North america? Despite the size difference, would the general antomy of this tiny centipede be the same as the giant south American centipedes?
