Potentially new species of ancient sea sponge (fossil).

Pulled a 17 inch mud puppy out of a creek in West Virginia on a trout pole. That thing was super dense and heavy.

Probably a french partridge they aren't exactly rare just I'd never seen one
I did see a hedgehog which are becoming increasingly rare,

2.5-3” Crotalus ruber in San Bernardino Co, California. Their range in mainland Cali is fairly restricted, so finding one this size anywhere north was a treat. IMG_6025.jpeg IMG_1066.jpeg

2.5-3” Crotalus ruber in San Bernardino Co, California.
I think I vaguely recognize that handler. How about some background on those photos? Whether by chance or other, that pinch behind the head of the snake spells experience. Not the full hand grip of the average amateur snake handler.
