Hey there everyone.

I just want to find out what is the easiest way to breed crickets because they are damn expensive here in South Africa and not every petshop has them and if they do stock crickets they are always sold out or only have 1/4 crickets.

Any help or suggestions are welcome.

Thanx.
Divan.

Just switch to roaches man;) but if roaches are not an option, well just use the search function, there are many threads on breeding of both (roach and cricks)...still, roaches are way better! {D

it not dat hard..use mix soil and green moss mix and keep the soil moist and keep feeding the adult cricket eventually u c small baby cricket all over ur tank... make sure the soil is about 2 inch...remember to keep moist and feed fresh veggie like lettuce...now u try breeding it....but cricket stink roaches r much better and they live longer than cricket...(cricket life span about 2 month max.... roaches about 2 year...min.....)

heya, if you're gonna breed crickets, you might as well try to breed black field crickets. They are a lot more meatier. as for the other common pet shop crickets, you don't even have to try and they'll breed.
anyway, good luck.

Mostly just keep the substrate moist, keep them well fed and they should go at it on their own and you'll be overwhelmed by pinheads {D

If they are going to be a feeder for other pets though I'd recommend switching over to roaches like Blaptica dubia if its possible for your location because they won't cannibalize themselves unless in very dire conditions and they don't smell as bad as the crickets.

I keep my dubias in a 10 gallon tank with a heater pad underneath, although I had to switch back to pinheads for my sling for now until I get baby roaches.

Here is some more information on B. dubia's...
