What is a sling?

yeah so im new here and just got my first T. today. I keep seeing the term sling used in a lot of your posts...and im sure its a really newbie question, but i was curious;)

Sling is slang....:)

What it means is spiderling. Folks in the hobby have just shortened it is all.

by the way, in case no-one told you, a spiderling is um, well, without getting into a huge discussion about what constitutes a sling (people have VERY different views on it :) ) a baby spider...

basically,
spiderling (sling) --> juvenile (juvie) --> sub-adult --> adult (mature/sexually mature generally)..


there's no REAL lines, as some people base it on the number of molts, and some people base it on size, and some people base it on ages, but the one thing i think we all agree on is a mature spider is one that can reproduce... usually speaking of males. But then again we may not agree on that.. haha this area is really versatile, you'll come to learn (substrate, breeding, eggsac pulling, raising, food giving, cage size, water levels, blah blah blah) =D
