I just finished browsing the Euscorpius paper on Heterometrus species and was curious what species are readily available to the hobby besides h. spinifer or h. longimanus? are there other rarer species still in the hobby floating about and turning up for sale every now and then? of all these species there are so many I haven't even heard of.

indus is the most uncommon from what i have.
Swammies are my favourite.
Their is a fair number of different available here in uk, but none are in big supply..
My F and M H swammerdami took ages to track down.

I keep laoticus, fulvipes, longimanus and swammerdami. I've seen some other spp available. One has to be careful when buying these. Its safe to say that Heterometrus is one of the most misidentified genera available. For instance, I bought my H laoticus as "H spinifer". So be sure you buy from someone that knows their stuff
