What happens when you pin an insect?

What happens with their organs? I mean, why don't they descompone
If they dry out too fast they mummify they don’t rot . I’ve seen it happen to lost tarantulas kept on dry bone dry substrate unfortunately my mom tossed them I was going to buy display boards for my fireleg /red knee I raised them since 2004… 🥲🥲. Ever seen a dead feeder roach that’s hard as a rock ?

They dry out fast like OP stated and I would assume you don't see the decomposition due to their exo skeleton.

The soft inner parts slowly dry out while the moveable exoskeleton at time of pinning hardens into the position it is placed in at tone of pinning!
