What do I do?

My Carolina mantis (Stegmomantis Carolina) made what lookes like an egg sack.
How do I take care of this thing? How long dose it take untill it hatches? Will my mantis die now? Please, if you have any info please tell me.:? :D

Did you raise this mantis or WC adult? If you raised it and have no male, then the egg sac is not fertile and will never hatch. If it is a WC adult, it probably is fertile and will hatch in a few weeks if kept warm, or you can put in the fridge for a diapause and take it out later.

Most mantids live less than a year, so if she is starting to produce sacs she probably has ~3-4 months to live.

to tell you the truth, I have no idea.:eek: it was given to me as a gift.......
I got her about 2 months ago, and we found her on the ground of her tank last night, and this morning she passed away....

Sorry to hear it. Hang onto the sac for a while and see if you can carry on her legacy.
