I have lived here for about 20 years. This is the first time (this year) that I heard this strange sound coming out of our backyard.

I heard this sound about 2 months ago. About 3-4 days in a row. Then it stopped for awhile. Then I heard it again this week, but only once.

Frogs maybe? Can you guys check it out.

Here is the recorded sound https://www.yousendit.com/download/dklyZXQzQzNCSWZ2Wmc9PQ

Strange though. Could it be an invading sp? Whenever I go near they shut up. Very hard to locate. They do this at night only. We have toads and tree frogs all year round but they dont sound like that, even in mating. I'll take a few snap shots of the resident amphibians here tomorrow

Oh and I live here :D

i wish i had water monitors and tokays living in my backyard:drool:

i'm going to say that it's not a tokay sound though, and i've never heard a monitor vocalize like that. gonna have to stick with my frog guess:D

(of course i could be wrong:rolleyes:)
