Weird Way To sex A T..

pet store employees are pretty bad all the time.. I had one woman tell me that rats live over 10 years! Wow, I've been doing something wrong for the past 14 years, then, because my babies live about 2-3 on average, longest was 3 1/2.

The petco near here suddenly got in a shipment of african black millipedes (they were all small still, I'm guessing a local breeder?), and I feel bad for them because last I saw one was in the middle of a molt while the employee was sifting around the enclosure poking at it and asking me if it was dead. It makes me wonder how many invertebrates are thrown away on a regular basis because an employee thinks it's dead when it's really molting?

What's bad is trying to explain to a pet store employee the facts, and they refuse to listen, stating what they said is completely true. That's about when I get frustrated and leave. Now I try not to shop in pet stores that actually sell pets, anymore. Too much of a headache when things can be ordered online just as easily.

Well my LPS told me that male rosies will always climb so the employees soak the substrate so they won't get dehydrated.

That's one of the best ones I've heard yet. I have been sexing mine all wrong. Time to check those spinnerettes. LOL....

I haven't heard anything that outrageous yet. So far, everything the LPS's around here get wrong involves water.

Sponge in the water. Gel instead of water. Directly spray their Rosies.


One thing I find that irks me is that the Fluker's water gel for crix says right on it: Good for tarantulas too

That doesn't make any sense. How is a male spider supposed to "hit it" if the female's spinnerets are crossed?

Well... if they have dated long enough, and she assumes he really IS a gentleman..er.. gentlespider (?).. then she will uncross them in the most lady like way possible..
Unless he buys her a few drinks first.....
