the egg in the back is a regular chicken egg. See how tiny the button quail are? Just hatched an hour ago.
we have a hatch starting..

I love button quail....there soo cool. Although they were a real bitch to catch when I worked at the petshop. Quick little buggars.

they were terrible
trying to catch them to get them out of the incubator and into the brooder. We have ten now, and two more of the eggs are rockin..

edit* this morning count:
we have eleven now. I don't think the final five are gonna hatch. Now then, I told my daughter she could keep three. I am gonna have a hard time getting her to give up the rest.
