Waxworm colony

I’m looking into setting up a Waxworm colony, and was wondering what would be the best substrate to use. I have read a lot of people prefer to use the wheat bran with honey and glycerin, but I also have access to lots of left over beeswax. Is there any downside to using the beeswax as the substrate? Or nutritionally does it make more sense to use the bran and honey mix. Love to hear your thoughts on this!
