i am reading on net all the time about watter crystals that
r substitute for watter in the bowl for roaches.
in Serbia i can find only watter crystals for plants like "luckey bamboo"!!
crystals r sold in plant shops
they have some color for estetic reasons....and r put in 0.7l of watter...
is that the same thing that people use all over teh world for roaches and other
insects???

I got my water crystals from a store that sells lucky bamboo. They look like firm gelatine. I got the clear one and has been using it for 6 months without any ill effects.

A small pack which is less than a cup in volume would last me a month. This supplies enough moisture requirement for 2 cricket and 2 roach colonies. You can re-hydrate it in case it shrinks.

i put crystals on some plastic, but it got dirty by "dust" a little bit..
it seams that cricket and roaches eat it very slowly ...and from time to time....

I put them in a waterdish. Any shallow plastic container will do. I discovered that styrofoam plate work well because the insects can walk on it easily. You can always rinse the crystals when they get dirty.
