I wanted to know how do you give water to your new born scorps (when you remove them from the water). As almost everyone puts them in delicups, what water bowl are you giving them? Is a watered paper towel enough for the water or do they really need a water dish?

Thanks, Frank

I dont know if its the best idea but it works for me. I use soda pop caps(plastic screw on ones). Anyway I put some small aquarium gravel in them and then add water. This way the scorp can stand in the water while drinking if it wants and it shouldnt drown. I havent lost one yet. It also cuts down on cricket drownings. Oh and make sure you wash the caps first. :)

good luck

Depending on the species even soda caps are too large. For some of the smaller desert species I just mist a side of the enclosure every couple of days.

I use water polymers aka cricket water bites to water my small scorpions. I buy the product in non-hydrated form from:
www.watersorb.com
buy the "large craft" size as it is sifted more for less dust. or you could just buy the hydrated product at your local pet store.

Thanks John, atavuss, did you have any problem with cricket water? I use that for my crickets (the hydrated one). If you say its right for them, then I'll use that, that will help me out, the only thing I don't like with that is that it dries fast, but I never tried it in a humid environment.

Thanks, Frank

Thanx John,

I dont have anything very small right now. The 2 emps are about 4" and 5" so I provide water in a little metal dipping cup with the aquarium gravel in it filled with water. The cup is about an inch and a half across so it is big enough for an enclosure with 2 scorps in it. As my T collection has exploded so shall all my other invert collections. I would love to get some of the other sp. Especially some desert sp. I currently have 2 emps, an O. asper(GRAVID), and a B. jacksonni. They are pretty cool little dudes. I am always in the market for new scorps.
