Wasp

Well today was interesting . i was working on a well pump and opened the cabinet and checked it out anyway, when i was done i looked at the inside of the door and found a paper wasp nest with one single wasp on it and she was acting all nutzo . well i went to walk away and she attacked lol got me on the shoulder, neck 2X and on the jaw bone lol
didnt hurt but still a bit of an itch
and today i was out looking around and found another wasp making a new nest in a coffee can that had been left out lol looks like a good year for wasps too bad all the bees are dying ...

What type was it a red one? It seems the further south you go the more defensive they get.
