I've had my M. giganteus for around 2 years now and I thought it was pregnant last spring. It went underground and then re-emerged a month or so later with no eggcase. (maybe it laid one and it died?).
But a couple weeks ago, it went underground again, and this time I've been able to see it. It has laid a nice eggcase with a bunch of circular yellow eggs. I'm starting to see a little dark coloration coming through as well. Could they be fertile? I mean, it has been a while since this thing has been around other vinegaroons.
