I was recording some footage of an echidna on a rural property on Kangaroo Island in South Australia. As I was viewing through the LCD screen, I could see that it was gradually getting closer but didn't realise until near the end that it was this close! Certainly not the norm as these are usually shy creatures that avoid people.

wow, it got close, all right. And as funny as I find its way of walking, that would've scared me a bit to suddenly realize how close those spines were to my face lol. Very nice video, by the way.

Thanks! Yea, I find their walk funny too. Luckily my face was well above this critter - I was squatting down with the camera mounted on a minature tripod and looking down at the angled LCD screen. I tilted the camera up at the end because I was worried about those spines getting awfully close to the lens!
