We found Bungee about 4 months ago wandering free. Last night, she laid 71 eggs. I went ahead and put them in the incubator on the off chance that she could have been bred. Any opinions on the possibility of a hatchout? I'm 99% sure I won't get anything, but that 1% possibility makes it impossible for me to toss them!:(

Your eggs will show their true colors in a matter of weeks.
If they are no good (which I suspect they are not) they will start to cave in and get moldy.
What temperature are you incubating them at?
Here is my info on veiled chameleons:

Note Lynda Horgan's article on keeping females.

71 is a big clutch. Make sure you are watering and feeding her well (lots of extra calcium no D3) for a few days before cutting her back to a maintenance schedule.

Yes, that's what I had expected. Our beardie eggs do the same. I'm keeping the veiled eggs at 80F day, 75F night.

This poor girl has been through so much, as I said, she was found wandering. Her casque was burned, she actually broke it off digging to lay her eggs. And her lower lip was pulled down off the bone. The vet said we could pin it back up if it interefered with her eating, but it doesn't, and I won't put her through surgery for cosmetic reasons!

She has a large ventral bulge on her left side, and is still digging, but I KNOW there aren't any eggs left in her. She is definitely in "intensive care" after laying such a huge clutch, getting all the extras she needs right now!!

Thanks for th info!

Thank you!! Oh, and the total count is 72 now. I cleaned out the laying box and found another!! Average clutch is 35-80? This girl is well above average. I can't wait to breed her when she get back in condition!
