Thanks Bill. Looks to me like in the pet trade, at this time, they are synonymous. Doesn't really help with an attempt at accuracy, but at least you know when you buy one or the other, they are most likely the same.
The name was changed from V. cristatus to Lasiodora cristatus, check Kelly Swifts page, he doesn't think it belongs in Lasiodora, but who knows it will probably change back.
