UVB ponderings

Hi guys,

I've been trying some different set-ups for my baby croc skink and I've had some problems with the lighting. I do have a good source of UVB which the little fellow needs but I'm beginning to suspect that the light itself can't last that long in the kind of humidity needed for a healthy skink. I also know that glass between the skink and the light source is a lousy idea since it'll filter away all the good stuff.
I guess my question is as follows, what can I use as a moisture barrier that'll still let enough UVB through to the lizard?

thanks for any pointers

You are that the great issue.

I would place a screen over the hole for a the light and call it a day. If you can find the glass that does allow uv light to pass it was is not very effective and it is expensive or a least the the stain glass store it is. I would just create a gap in the lid. Place the lamp the required distance away from the gap, cover with screen and watch the humidity.
