I keep getting a lot of mixed questions for some reason about this but i want to see what you guys know.

Is UVB lighting good, or bad for an emperor scorpion?

i just bought a 60 watt red heating bulb and i read on the box and says that it sends some UVB rays, so i want to know if it will damage my emp. i just bought.

The UV bulbs that emit UVB only, a purplish color, should not be used for long times on a scorpion. An IR bulb that emits a redish light should not harm the scorpion. Even fluorescent bulbs emit some UV. I have a few that are for plants.

It is the concentration of UV that will damage the scorpion.

The duration is also a factor. Using a UV bulb as a heat source could cause problems, but having one for occasional viewing, or finding scorps in the enclosure would not hurt the scorps.
