i have a usambara dont have any pics right now but mine almost escape a few days ago.. i was playing with it until it crawl right up the tongs..that scare the crap out of me..good thing its not dead..

Excellent shot, Phil. I can't think of very many instances where you can get safely get -that- close to an Usumbara. I assume you were on the other side of the glass, or you used a camera with good macro capabilities. :)

Camera has good macro and I was maybe 4 inches or so away. No Glass just opened the top and started shooting. As long as you aren't touching them they don't have much reason to bolt.

Nice pics. I lack a camara that is worth taking any pics with myself, but have a 2" usumbara I got a couple weeks ago. Awesome li'l devil. Started webbing a little den within 15 minutes of being put in it's new home. 1st one of these I've ever had. I know they are fast and aggro, but how bad is their bite really?
