This is the first time I have been on in a while, but I just saw on the news that scientists have recently discovered that tarantula's secrete silk from the pads on their feet which is why they can climb such slippery surfaces and what-not, which I just found fascinating :D although I didn't like the treatment they seemed to be giving them o.o constantly poking them around with sticks and shaking them while they're hanging onto glass and their housing wasn't to great either... But that's just personal opinion. As I'm here I thought I'd give an update on my Gbb which I attained a few months ago at about 3/4" size and he has moulted twice since then (I say 'he' because I'm presuming it's a guy as he has very long legs and not such a big abdomen as females) his colours are starting to come through great :D he started off orange with black stripes everywhere now his legs have gone a lot more green/blue and he's lost his orange and black patternation on his abdomen, I've found it really interesting to watch them grow and I've kept both of his skins so far :3 my grammostola pulchra however still hasn't moulted so it's been atleast 2/3 months now since she had a change of behaviour, I really can't remember. Still sluggish, not eating and what-not. I will try to upload a couple of pictures of my gbb when I can, but it's a bit hard as I have to survive off of my blackberry for internet access -.- anyway that's my update, thanks guys :D

I see that nobody has wanted to touch this one yet so I'll be the first to ask if you can provide any link to this new information.

Males don't look any different then the females until after their ultimate molt.

I don't know about that - - my male (confirmed by exuvia) which I think is penultimate has "looked" male for the past two molts. It's possible that's just my imagination and certainly it's never 100% just by looking at it, but I think there are some differences.

You're talking about legginess and abdomen size right?
