Unusual scorpion behaviour?

So after my first H. Spinifer passed away from a sudden death I took a while before getting another.

I decided to get two and make sure there were plenty of hides for both of them. This is the part that I'm confused over. I was of the impression that they can live communally, as long as they have plenty of places to get away from each other.

I keep finding them side by side under the same hide. They're both juvenile to the best of my knowledge. Is this normal behaviour? I thought they could be a little territorial?

Anybody got any knowledge on this?

Thanks in advance.

Same brood or different? Could be used to each other and have been cohabitating already if they have been together a while.

It's possible they're from the same brood as I got them both from the same place at the same time having chosen both to be juvenile. Other than that there's no guarantee.

Snap some pics let's figure this out!

There's a high chance they are siblings and have been together since birth.

Attached. Tried my best to get them as focussed as possible. Got an underside photo too. Differentiated by writing on tube and which tattoo they were vibing on. Plain tube goes with Tetris (ik it needs fixing, lol) and tube with writing goes with assassin's creed logo.

They were hanging out together when I got them out as well. It's seriously cute to see

Those almost look like 3i instar. Or 4i. So definitely young and definitely a slight bit under the juvenile stage. They look to be from the same brood. Just my opinion.

Do you think they're near a shed yet? They're both fattening up quite quickly and a little sluggish. Also do you know how many sheds they tend to get?

Thanks for all your help btw

I'm not quite sure on how many but my spinifer had 3 when I got him super young. But he's not massive. Maybe about 3 inches or so I'd say? Imperator and dictators molt verrrrrry slowly. My 3i Imperator took months to molt. Layed back on June 16th. Finally molted about a couple weeks ago.

Ah, fair enough. I'd heard moults could take a while but I'd not heard of months before. How many scorps you got, btw?

That's incredible! Do you breed them? I'd love a personal zoo like that.

How do you go about gathering that many?

I do not actively breed. Ive owned verious types of the last 6yrs and ive ventured into the hot side to perk up my intrests. I bought my Emperor at an Expo and she ended up being pregnant but before that I had the curiosity of mating my 2 Centruroides Gracilis male and female and she ended up being pregnant upon arrival and dropping a 24count brood a day before they linked up and made a second brood of 23. Over the last year or 2 I've accumulated a verity of different localities from vendors and online. I had gone through a rough patch in my life and wanted something to take my mind off of reality so I began to jump into the scorpion side of keeping more heavily and ever since I've had a lot of fun and put a lot of care into my critters. I had a Beared Dragon that was my little best friend and he passed on so it tore me apart so I made a commitment to whatever I got next they or it would be extremely spoiled. It takes daily care and daily research to keep them thriving and also trying to be on my toes with precautions and the risks. But having some species have really opened my eyes to the beauty of them so it kept me interested and growing as a keeper. Add me on IG ( venomanuspnw) I'm on there more then here if you wanna see more stuff and keep up a little closer!

This is my female Death Stalker and she is my first hot species. Has molted once and has been thriving and jivin. Definitely not a beginner species by any means but is a fun one to watch do her thing. Shes i believe fully mature now. After her, my wallet said just BUY THEM ALL! LOL 20230429_103357.jpg

Yes cannibalism can occur so I keep my young separated. I make sure to feed them individually ( just my taste ) some feed them all together in a group. But I don't wanna run that risk. I just also make sure they seem well fed and wait till they start to thin up a little bit so they stay active and alert.

Some species can have cohabitation and thrive together and it all just depends. Emperors and forrest scorpions seem to be fine others, not so much. But it's a species by species type deal.
