I have both an Aphonopelma bicoloratum and a Brachpelma boehmei and have noticed how much they look alike.

Here are pictures of both these juvenile females. Can you correctly ID which is which?

Prize for the correct answer is a free flightless fruit fly! (shipping extra, void where prohibited by law, some restrictions may apply)

So I picked answer # 1, because I could use some fruit flies to feed my army of slings.

Bicoloratum always seems to have a deeper dark pumpkin orange, with a much darker black.
And the Boehmei are much lighter in general,
Ill feel silly if I was wrong. :D

IME, the genus Aphonopelma always has larger chelicera in proportion to their carapice than Brachypelma

I am with Chesire on this one I used the carapace to make my guess. The shape between the two are different to me and the first T has Brachy all over it.

number 1's a boehmei, because the hairs on the # 2 are too red. they're both pretty, tho.

#1 is definately B.boehmei and #2 is A.bicoloratum. The carapace to chelicera size is a dead give away to Aphonopelma spp. I believe.

I'd say the first is the boehmie, and the second is the bicoloratum.

A tougher one may have been Aphonopelma mooreae vs Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens. The trick to this would be not many have seen A. mooreae.
