Unknown molt

I found this empty exoskeleton in an alleyway at work, next to a trash can and I'm not sure the species. It's a little over half an inch long.

ya know i was looking again at the pic,it kinda looks like a moth of some sort with the hairs and all,don't know.

I am thinking some sort of fly. The integumental spines are fairly common on some types of fly pupae.

Yeah, it's very maggot-like...but it's so large, I've never seen such a big hairy maggot.

I'd say some sort of beetle.

Looks like maybe a robber fly pupe ??
