I have all my T's in my room now(10 and 2 scorps) but I am about to receive a collection and need more room. Is there anyway I can make my unfinished basement more T friendly? I'm collecting data right now on what the average temp and humidity percentages are now. during the day evening and night and will post soon. thanks

If you own the home I say rough frame in a small room and cover it with dry wall. If you do it yourself you really could get it done relatively inexpensively. On the off chance you get busted building without the proper permits you never talked to me.Between the small room the dry wall and a space heater you could have a perfect T room. That's what I'd do.

All mine are in my closit...

but if I where you and didnt want to build anything, I would pick a corner and secure a peice of wood or pipe on the celing of where you would "add" the other two walls. Drape afew sets of sheets and maybe wrap it in plastic wrap and you should be good.

Or just run a space heater and a humidifyer in the whole basement.

its a twin sized house sized basement...would a humidifier make it too damp? I mean it only has one window.

I have a humidifyer running in my 4ftX5.5ft closit. I keep the door closed. it stays at about 80% humidity and 80*F. I dont have a problem with condonsation on the walls or anything.

get the oil filled space heaters, preferably the ones with the timers or thermostat. If you need to run a humidifier but those places are usually pretty humid already. If the space is big, hang some sheets or blankets to make a room where they can be it is amazing how much heat will be trapped in there.
You could also by metal racks and enclose it and only heat it with heat tape and a small humidifier. For that matter a small plastic garden shed.

Be creative, you can do just about anything with a little imagination. On of the things I love about keeping T's is how creative I have to be to use and modify other things to work for me.
What ever you do take before and after pictures and let us know it turns out.

yeah i think Im going to get one of those plastic sheds, you think i could just cut some holes in the sides to place heat lamps or should i just go with a heater outside the cabinet?

Stop being lazy and finish the basement imo. I redid the floors, windows, blew in new isulation into the ceiling, spackled primed and painted, even rewired some stuff. Took me a week to do it but i now have an extra room in the house, considering all it was pretty cheap (under a 1000$) and pretty easy!
