I was mowing my front yard and along the bottom of the fence, I noticed this huge funnel web. It went through the fence and onto the backside in my back yard. So I go into the backyard and follow the funnel. Right above the very end of it I found a little web pouch. So I carefully opened it up and was surprised to find a P. audax!! I have never seen any of these before and I didn't even know if they were in my area, but I guess they are. So I quickly caught it and got it a home. What I can't figure out is what made the funnel web. The only other spiders were a crab spider and a black widow in the exact same area. This is a great looking spider and a nice new pet :D I think it's about .5" or .75" and it has yellow hairs and I think I read that this indicates a juvenile.
