umm is this normal??

one of my 4-5th instar V. spinigeurs's tail was twitching, it was holding it in the regular position it just started twitching around..it did it every few minutes..is this a possible sign of dehydration?? i provided water tonight just in case..could it be a sign of an upcoming molt?? please?? lol or is it totally normal? thanks

It could be that it's mad at being disturbed. I have a few scorpions that will wag there tails when bothered. It's a treat sign.

ok thanks :) that makes sense i was taking pics and had to move their enclosure to do so yeah that makes sense

Can you describe the twitching a bit more? If you mean more of a waving around, then John is correct. If it is a vibrating twitching (extremely fast), that could be something else. Can you elaborate?

Sounds normal. I've noticed my Grosphus grandidieri doing this all the time while hunting or when agitated.

it was kinda both, i mean he wasn't waving it at me exactly, it was just twitching like it would fling back then forward, then to the side just all around..kinda of a vibraty twitch

if there is waving around involved, you are probably fine. If it starts getting more twitchy all over, like legs too, come back and ask about it... :)

In my experience with the strange tail twitching....I had a 4th or 5th instar B.jacksoni that would do that every time she was moving around...it looked so wierd. All her husbandry parameters were correct and she continued the twitching off and on until her next molt, or at least seemingly after her molt the twitching stopped. I really have no idea what that was all about.
