Uh...this may sound dumb...but

I've been wondering how legspan is measured. I mean, you don't actually flatten the T so it's legs are the longest? So in what position is good for taking a measurement? Is it just an estimate?

P.S. Whoever asked in my last post ("New to the Boards and the Hobby") for a picture of my T, I'll have it as soon as I can find my card reader for my computer

I believe that ts are measured diagonally from front leg to back leg while in the resting position. After awhile you'll get pretty good at eyeballing them and being able to tell about how big they are.

Also, the measurement is taken while the legs are extended. If a T. blondi was measured at 11 inches in resting pose, that would mean you'd have a tarantula with a legspan of about 1 1/2 feet.

It would be great, but unfortunately untrue.....

usualy T mesurements are just guesses unless some one either cooled or gased there T so they could strech it all the way out and remember most people are prone to exageration especialy if thheir trying to sell you something(remember I said most not all)
