Tunnel building in Isopods?

A tunnel made by one of my zebra ( Armadillum maculum )Isopods has appeared what does it mean?
They have mated though I'm yet to see any Mancae the only other creature in their enclosure is springtails

It's possible that the isopods dug a tunnel to make voids in the soil.

I see my Porcellio laevis orange moving through tunnels regularly. My assumption always was temperature/ moisture regulation.

At least regarding temperature I can say that they dig into substrate during winter to avoid the cold, as many invertebrates do during those months in temperate climates. I would assume they dig year round to get an environment they are most comfortable in.
