Ok well this is what happened, yesterday i went to feed my Golden Tegu and i found out he managed to tear a hole in the screen lid.:wall: The screen lid is old and rusting in some parts so he managed to climb out and escape. So as anyone would do i searched my house upstairs and downstairs. I looked everywhere for hours and there was no sign of him, so i decided it was getting late and i was in need of some sleep. I woke up this morning at 6 for no reason so i decided to get comfortable and get more sleep..... Well i moved and felt something cold beside me:? ?? Yea that's right my Tegu was curled up in a ball beside me in my bed and that's not all it was under the covers lol:clap: . So i gently picked him up and looked him over for any injuries, he looked fine and happy so i put him back with something on the screen so he can't escape again. That was the easiest animal i ever lost and found it, but also the weirdest. My question is has anyone ever had anything close to this happen?

escapes are never fun. My sister's little RTB escaped a few months ago, they didn't even know she was missing until the noticed her curled up around a curtain rod, just chilling out...

I wouldn't want to think about what would happen if her tegu's got out... One is deformed, so he can only open one side of his mouth, so he wouldn't be much of a threat, but Spike is vicious! We'd be short a few cats by the time he turned up, that's for sure!

Thats why im glade that my Golden Tegu is fairly tame but its still a juvinile. If it was agressive i might have been in trouble.

My 4ft ig figured out how to open the door to his enclosure. Found him on the top shelf of my closet two days later. {D (don't worry. I left water and food out)

Next one was a genet on my shower curtain rod. Had to chase him around the house with a kennel lol.

Not a reptile but

I had a pet rat that would escape and crawl into bed with me. I would wake up and he would be curled up on my chest. Lol

I had a RTB that got out once. My mom told me the next day that she had dreamed about something crawling across her neck. Guess where I found the snake? In her bed. I guess she was not dreaming {D

Some good stories here!! Here is one of mine. Several years ago I got a hatcling albino burmese python. She got to be about 3 foot long. This is in the winter, early spring during calving season. Wife gets up to go to work about an hour after I come to bd from making my rounds thru all the livestock. Im trying to sleep whe all of a sudden there is a terrible screech. Wife is naked, getting in shower when she finds my snake in the shower. I find my wife naked sitting in the bathroom sink. I dont think she has ever forgiven me!!! And she definately doesnt like snakes!! She did let me keep my baby until she got to 14 feet, Then I sold her to a guy with a large male.

I have a lot of reptile stories about them getting out and finding them but not like that! I did have a Scolopendra heros heros centipede get out about many years ago. It wasn't real big but it wasn't small either, it was still young. I went to bed, I thought it was gone for good. Then, in the middle of the night, I felt this thing run across my leg "under!" the covers. I knew exactly what it was the split second I woke up! I've never woken up and jumped out of bed that fast before. I had the same feeling you get when you almost have a wreck in you car, when you really wake up.

Your lucky that you didn't smash your pede because you prob would have gotten bit. I sure hope that my pede never gets out.

My albino burm unlatched her lid somehow when she was a hatchling. Her cage was at the head of our bed. My wife went to lay down and the burm struck at her and barely missed her. Needless to say that was the only time she struck at anyone, and the only time her little bum ever escaped....

My rats got out the other night. I walked into the room and somehow their cage got knocked to the floor. Well it was an easy round up because they ran up to me looking for more food. {D This was the second time these guys escaped. The first was with their previous owner who also had another female that was very defensive. We had to chase her with a dust pan and gloves because Snuggles bit HARD.

sounds like fun!
I had a rat who would ritually escape from his cage each night, and then sit on top of it, waiting for me to wake up, put him back, and try to rig up some other method of keeping it shut... Smart rat, but also mean as heck!
