My little brother called tonight telling me he caught a tarantula for me but it was not like any he ever saw before. He said he was diging a ditch and saw it there in his shovel. He went on to describe it as a black spider with some light gray trimming and a shiny black legs and carapace lol he said it hav HUGE fangs for the size of the spider and short legs lol
so i directed him to a page about trapdoor spiders native to Texas and he said yep thats it, ya want it lol . Of course i did lol
So this weekend i guess i will have to go down there to get it lol . He said its aobut a 2" legspan. and had a real fat abdomen. so maybe its gravid !

Hmm thats funny i didnt think trapdoors were in the U.S. but maybe because im dumb and never looked it up i thought they were from Africa and other countries?? :?

There are trapdoor spiders in Texas also funnel webs
