Hey everyone. I've been trying to find a southern black widow to add to my collection. I live in Louisville, Kentucky, but I haven't been able to find one. I've done my research but maybe I'm just not looking in the right places or something. Has anyone out there had experience catching them? I'll take any info, thanks:)

This should help a bit:

I'm not exactly in a widow heavy area (damn corn/soy fields of central Illinois lol), but whenever I've gone searching in southern Illinois, I look for sheltered areas that are out of the way, typically with a nice dark crevice for the spider to hide in. Once you have an idea of theridiid webs that will help you search as well. I was also hunting for L. variolus, which I think are a bit more secretive than L. mactans (anyone please correct me if I'm wrong!).
