Everyone loves pictures of threat poses, but nothing is funnier than a sling or dwarf tarantula that thinks it’s scary.

Post pictures of your tiny terrors here.

My juvenile male Dolichothele diamantinensis (2.25″) made this threat pose when I nudged his mealworm (with a crushed head) toward his retreat. Two hours later, and he was still in the same position, his fangs bared.

My 1.5" male Harpactira pulchripes. I was checking on the spiders like usual with my flashlight, when I got to his he was already waiting like this.

Being a G. pulchra person, I don't often get defensiveness from my little lords and ladies, that's just not what one does in polite society. How uncouth, my word! :pompous: But I wish I would have had a camera ready during my last rehouse, because a small somebody thought they were an OBT for about one whole minute... a full threat pose and even two slaps!

Poor little thing, I must have inadvertently startled them. Still, ridiculous.

Seeing a sling threat pose is funny, seeing it from a pulchra is just hilarious!

Once — just once — one of my pulchras gave me this half-hearted threat pose when I nudged her out of the way to remove her water dish for cleaning.

My G. pulchra is definitely not above throwing up a threat pose but it's 100% a bluff. It seems to be chilling out a bit with age though - it was kind of mental as a sling and by ~1.5" it was feisty as all get out, then it molted to 2.5" and it's relaxed a bit.

I also had my H. chilensis threat pose at me once after I drove it crazy taking flash photos immediately after rehousing, which was possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen a T do.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a good video of the incident that happened today. But it tickled me.
My juvenile Homoeomma sp. blue Peru / Peruvian Blue I fed a large hisser roach to.
Her little legs were sticking out the side of her enclosure - thus preventing me from closing her lid safely.
Waiting, waiting, and then gently touching her toes on the rim of the lid didn't do the trick (all I got was a threat posture with more legs on the rim)... so I waited again and then I brought a paintbrush out and, as always gently, touched her toes again...This time, she decided she was angry so I got a huge threat posture with fangs bared immediately and a dropped roach that began to roll off of the top of her hide (I think she took that as it running away, even though it was already zombie-fied)...so another wonderful take-down I got to witness and she is now peacefully dining.
The below posted pic is just before she decided to drop the roach and get real angry with me...her whole 3.5'' ...LOL DSC02741.JPG

Sadly, I have no pictures, but for Christmas, my daughter brought me a small paper bag and handed it gently to me. I carefully unfolded the top and took out the condiment cup to see a 1" H pulchripes giving me a threat posture. Merry bleep Christmas!

When @l4nsky said Ho Chi Minh were the most defensive Ts he’s worked with I was skeptical. I’m a believer now… Here is a 1” sus female. She came up out of her burrow just to be angry that I picked up her vial. How Dare I!
