Folks I kid you not this is real. An odd mutation occurred in a 4th instar hopper I found.

A buddy named it ninja. I can see why


This is the top, a little more normal, the belly is completely black.

These guys will be breeding when they are ready, I'm so exited I can't wait to get back into this! When I was an invert n00b I bred these first time round, time to do it again huh? :D I love locusts, and if you're nice I can tell you about them! :)

Hey you keep us updated and post lots of pics especially of your breeding setup. I have been DYING to breed Dissosteira carolina but I have not been sucessful in getting the females to even LAY their eggs.

Some day I'll get into breeding locusts, they are great! I think I may start with these beauties I've found in the Chaco forests.
