I'm setting up my enclosure for my first emp, and I just got a new heater (the old didn't werk). Problem is- the themp is reading 75F on the side with the heater, but the opposite side is reading nearly 80F. WTF???

Any help would be appreciated.

Nope. Heater covers most of the short side, thermometers are in opposite corners of the long side.

Where are the air openings in your lid? and is your substrate on a slant? Please describe the tank a bit more if possible.

Thanx

Substrate is peat and terrarium moss, and is on a slight slant. Ventilation via screen lid, partially covered with a damp towel to keep up humidity.

is the ventilation hole on top of the end that has least subtrate?

Their might just be a heat pocket between the top of the higher slanted part of youre setup.
