Hi Timo,
Great shots, look at how extreme the differences are between the labium, maxillae and cymbium of the diplurids (and indeed many other mygales) cf. to the theraphosids. The ventral shot is great to show what exactly, an anterior maxillary lobe is not (the pointed inner frontal corner of the maxillae, seen from underneath, is greatly emphasized in the theraphosids, along with the paratropidids), clearly lacking in the diplurid ;)

thx for your kind words. I added those pics also from the view that ppl could see where are the difference to the Theraphosidae.

About the maxillary lobe, here is a picture of the maxillae of a P. murinus:

Ditto on the scope envy there timo, i'd be stoked if i could get shots like that out of my scope

hah i have to third that. your photos are always great, but these microscope shots are really nice :D i recently bought a hands free magnifying lens, and am working on taking photos through it..but i have nothing on your photos..even when i perfect the ones i am taking. :D :clap:
