Or ...shall I say...delusions of pregnancy?!
My A urticans female, whom I *desparately* tried finding a mature male for after her molt on 3-11 of this year...has decided to take matters into her own 8 legs...and produce an eggsac ANYWAY!
Poor thing....it's quite large, and she has redone her entire home to accommodate it. I had a sneaking suspicion when she suddenly decided to tear her web apart, and build a new one, especially since her abdomen was quite large, and she hasn't been eating.
Should I leave it in there with her? Or will the eggs rot and start stinking?!

I think it's OK to leave it for now. I think she'll either abandon it or eat it before itbecomes a problem.

thanks Wade, it seems pretty mean to just take it away from her!
It's the largest one I've seen (not that I've seen alot of them LOL), and she's tenderly massaging it, and giving it loving care :)
In fact, it's much larger than herself, too bad it wasn't fertilized!

Maybe it will produce one lone spiderling, who will forgive all of your T's when they sin.
