Well, my YT channel is up! This is the first properly filmed video on the channel (previous ones were poorly shot phone vids). It is a feeding video of Poisonous Insect, my new E. rubripes. I apologise for the background noise and occasional stammering in my narration. I will improve my technique in the videos to come! Handling videos will be coming soon. Feel free to subscribe ;)

Thanks. Please tell me you can put up with my narration...I can reduce the stammering, but I can't change my voice.

Thanks for that. Maybe I'm just being over critical. I'm kinda new to the whole internet thing.

Good video, nice to have a bit of info without the hyperbole. Nothing noticeable in your voice, it's not only normal, but a million times better than the over-energised stuff we usually get with people showing off big predatory inverts. The main advice I'd give you is get a tripod and set up your shots, focus etc. Think about an external mic or overdubbing, as right now, you get a lot of camera noise when handling it, assuming your mic is in the cam itself?

A thought, and not a criticism, is something I see a fair bit of on youtube; scientific latin mispronunciation, although the lines are not always too clear. It doesn't matter a lot, but in your example, I'd have went for roo-breh-pees, as the name is taken to mean red-foot, so I'm assuming a locale of this centipedes used for the description had red legs or red-tipped legs. Usually when we see "pes" at the end of a scientific name it's a reference to legs or feet (think centipede, after all) :)

Thanks for that. As a matter of fact, that was how I used to pronounce it, but I stopped when my friends started laughing at it (to this day, I don't know what's so funny about that pronunciation). As a side note, I was using a tripod, but taking videos are still something new to me, so it obviously wasn't top notch. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll be able to get some handling vids; they always seem to get some views, so they'll be useful in helping me get a following.
