My mother.
Formaly so arachnophobic she had difficultlies coming into my house knowing there was BIG hairy spiders here.
Is going NUTS.
She calls me up and says.
"Hay baby girl (I'm the youngest...) I just hit and run Wallmarts. Did you know they had ten gallon aquareums for eight dollars? I picked up three for the twins fuzzy fangies."
I say. "Mom. I don't have anything to put in the ones I have now. I think your going a bit overboard."
She says. "Well. We'll see about what we can do to occupy them."
I say. "Mom, remember your an arachnophobe?"
She says. "Only with spiders."
I say. "Um, mom, these are spiders..."
She says. "No they arn't they're PETS. Theres a difference.."
Said she would se me shortly and hung up.

What have I done?

Oh I Love her new attitude static and would never work to make her afraid.
I just don't want her to go and spend all her money like that.
She works hard and isn't retired at age 60.
She has bills and busts but to keep them covered.
I love how she's getting into the T spirit and she expressed today an actual Desire to own a Smithi.
Which is her favorite of ours.
I don't want to see her spoil the girls so much with her enthusiasm that she doesn't have enough money to spoil herself.
And the woman Never buys anything for herself.
She's a whole different critter then the woman I grew up with.
It took us a lot of years to become friends.
I don't want her thinking she has to spend money to stay in our hearts.
Know what I mean?

i say get her a full grown rosie and let her decide if she wants it first....then if she keeps it let her decide if she likes the hobby...maybe she just stumbled upon a new hobby.

Im going to have to recommend a Pink Zebra Beauty. My Gypsy is the most lovable of my bunch of T's.

Oh she's not buying anything for herself at this time.
She knows herself enough to know she can't Handle Living with a tarantula right now.
But she is at the stage of openly admiring ours and enthusiasticly buying things for the twins to house more in.
When she's ready she can field test her desire with Sunshine or Moonbeam.
Will she ever Hold one?
No. And that's alright.
But she knows she can't get one untill she can feed and water it herself.
Which she still hasn't worked up to.
Actualy openingand reaching into the enclosier.
And how to react to one scrambling up her arm.
She might not Ever get one.
But from all the pictures and from ours here in the house.
Smithi's are her favorites.
I'm proud of her for opening her mind to this hobby and exploring her own fears and overcoming them this much.
Very proud.
