    Starting this thread for a bit of fun, it's your opinion so there's no right or wrong answer's.
    For me I love the idea of being able to keep a whole arachno-zoo of inverts from all different environments and areas on a single set of shelves.

    The best thing about keeping tarantulas and inverts is .....

    ... watching them carry on doing what they do, completely oblivious to the drama and hardships of human life. Their entire universe is a clear plastic box on my bookshelf... it is quiet, uniquely theirs however they make it with webbing/rearranging/etc. and I get to observe it any time I want. It is utterly fascinating and humbling.

    Just love being able to keep a variety of little architects with a set of fangs, 8 eyes and 8 legs that can build webs with their butts and come in a massive selection of colours, shapes and sizes.
    Also not even requiring a great deal of constant attention :)

    Always thought spiders where just incredible haha

  7. * Low maintenance
    * Cheap to keep
    * Not needy of your attention
    * Doesn't eat my house out of food
    * Fascinating to watch
    * Quiet
    * interesting to read about

    Wish somebody introduced me to T's before I had kids

    Having a creature that is soo ancient, yet soo alien just living in your bookshelf. Knowing that the creatures that've been around since the times of dinosaurs are living right now right beside you. Absolutely baffles me when i think about it that way!

  11. It's such a learning experience and also strangely calming after a day having to deal with people to come home to a houseful of small creatures that could care less if I am there or not. They simply go about their lives without any drama. Low maintenance is also a plus.

    Just fascinating overall, and a great way to start a conversation with new people. I swear that for more than half of my best friends, our first conversation arose as a result of their curiosity about my inverts.

    They're lower maintenance than the average houseplant.

    I am not sure about the "without any drama" part, thinking of my B. Harmorii :D

    But seriously, it also calms me down to observe them. They are fascinating and beautiful to watch without most of the complications and effort that come with classic pets or *shudder* humans.

  15. Lol, yeah I also have a B. hamorii that's quite the drama queen, but when compared to people it's endearing rather than extremely annoying.

    How? Do you answer the door dressed in a bloodstained robe, hold your T before you and mumble "It hungers ..."?

    Ew ew ewww. Don't even say the "H" word... it conjures them!

    Okay, your joke went too far. Bringing strangers into your home for any reason other than making sacrifices to the weather gods is just plain crazy!
