Hey all,
Today I discovered the down-side to knowing a little more about Tarantulas. I went to the pet store to buy my first crickets (i hate them already), and I noticed that the only T that they're keeping there is dying. The people who work there didn't seem very knowledgable about Ts, and the substrate seems very inappropriate. I'm not sure what it is, but it looks sharp and jagged. Anyway, I'm almost sure that the T is in jeopardy. It's doing the classic giveaway: huddled in the corner with its legs underneath it.
I'm unsure of the species. They have it labeled as a 'striped knee'. it's entirely brown in color and it does indeed seem to have lighter brown stripes on its knees. to my untrained eye it looks to be about 3 inches or so. I can't afford to buy it and I don't know how I'd do at caring for it, but I wish I could do something. Maybe I'm wrong and it has a long life ahead of it. But if not..then this sucks.
