Got a 3.5 inch Nhandu chromatus from Eric on Tuesday along with a B. emilia.

I let them adjust for a day and then fed them and they ate like they haven't ever been fed. Very Heathly specimens. N. chromatus then molted the very next day and added about 1/2 in in length to its legspan.

It was pretty when it arrived and now it is gorgeous.

Thanks Eric!!!!!!!! That Nhandu will be huge before the end of the year if it continues like the first two days I had it!!

Wow, the N. chromatus ate the day before it molted?

Must have been REALLY hungry!

That's why I was so shocked to see the exuvium in there on Thursday Afternoon. He ate 2 medium sized B. lateralis on Wednesday morning!!!

exuvium was kinda shriveled up when I got to it. How do you soften them up enough to unravel them?

Not sure about alcohol but I use a spray bottle full of water. A few squirts and it softens right up. Open it really gentle with some tongs or tweezers and take a pic. Good luck.

Misting it with water should work but I heard a drop of
dishwashing liquid
added to the water does the extra trick...

I also just use water. I float them on top of the water for 15 min or more then tease them open on my finger using tweezers. I imagine soap helps break the surface tension but I usually do fine without it.

Yeah, I have never needed anything but water either. I'm gonna try the dish washing liquid next time though.
